Last night the Bruins came though for me however the Red Sox exploded for 8 runs and blew up my under bet of 7. Boy I thought the Cardinal bullpen was better than that! I'm psyched that the Sox got a win in game 1 of the WS, in my opinion that was the game the Cardinals had the best chance to win. I no longer see this series going 6 games.
My record so far...

On to the picks. I love Thursdays in the fall. We have a full suite of hockey games and football in both the NFL and college...so here we go...
NFL:
Panthers (-287) @ Bucs: The spread opened at 5.5 and moved to 7. I liked it 5.5 and will need to be more diligent in looking at the opening spreads and locking in favorites before the public jump all over it. The issue I have with 7 points is that the Panthers could easily win by 7 and its a push. The over/under is a low 40.5 so it is tempting to tease it up, however the Panthers have an underrated defense ranked 2nd in points allowed and 5th in passing yards given up. The Bucs have issues scoring with a green QB and a backup RB. The over/under is radioactive. I'm going with the ML here and looking to parlay it.
CFB:
Kentucky Wildcats (+11.5) @ Miss St (-436): The reason I put both lines here is that this is a game that you can take both spreads and at worst break even with a chance of hitting both. The spread opened up at 10.5 moved to 9.5 and now has gone to 11.5. This tells me that when it opened the sharps jumped on it and bet it down to 9.5 then the public got on Miss St and kept betting it up to 11.5. Trust the sharps on this. Miss St wins but Kentucky covers.
I'll put Miss St in a parlay with the Carolina Panthers to bring the line down a bit. (-176)
MLB:
I'm sticking with my picks from last night. Wacha folds under the pressure and the Sox take a 2 game lead to St. Louis. Sox (-118)
NHL:
There are some really good games tonight if you are a hockey fan. San Jose is coming into the Garden to take on the Bruins and the Blackhawks travel to Tampa Bay. These of course are not games I would bet on. Here are a few that I will.
Ducks (+100) @ Canadiens: Anaheim got blasted by Toronto and the line is telling me that the public has lost a little faith in the Ducks. I have not. They are +9 on playing a Canadien team that lost to Edmonton. Look for the Ducks to get back on track while the Canadien's run their losing streak to 3.
Predators (-137) at home vs. Jets: Even though Nashville lost on Tuesday at Minnesota this is still a good hockey team. Their difference is -5 but they are 3-1-1 at home. The Jets on the other hand lost at home to the Caps on Tuesday and now have to travel to Nashville.
Calgary (+1.5) (-210) @ Stars: We all know that the Flames are an overachieving team that is motivated. They are coming off a loss in LA but playing a beatable Dallas team that has a -9 difference and on a 2 game losing streak. Look for the Flames to play inspired hockey and either win outright or lose in overtime or a shootout.
