Today's Line - Encouraged

1-1 and a loss of $0.90 and you're asking why am I encouraged. Two reasons.

One my first baseball under of the year came through which builds my confidence in my numbers, and the second reason is that the loss confirms my thinking that only the elite pitchers should be trusted. John Lackey is not elite.

Today I've picked 4 elite pitchers so let's see what happens.

Sonny Gray and Corey Kluber are facing teams that strikeout over 20% a clip. The Rangers and Seattle respectively are struggling to score runs as well. I have confidence that the Indians can get a few runs off of Elias, and if we get some regression from Martinez we are home free.

I know Scherzer is facing the Yankees at home and Tanaka on top of that, but Tanaka has had one start and it was against the aforementioned Mariners. I'm not ready to declare him a good pitcher. The Nats are much better than the Mariners, I'll take Scherzer plus some juice any day.

Finally there is Wacha who has a special place in my heart for I have backed him for the majority of his wins. I'm not going to stop now regardless of Coors field. The Cards come at a cheap price against a guy that hasn't pitched in 7 days due to an undisclosed injury.

In the NBA I'm sticking to my strategy of taking the under in the first half, mainly so I can enjoy watching the second half.
