Today's Line - Friday Night Lights

I know I talked about being selective with your plays yesterday so I guess it's kind of ironic that I have 8 plays below. But I did lay off 5 games I didn't like in the NBA and I finally broke up for good with the NHL. I also laid off of CBB tonight which wasn't that hard but still...give me some credit!!

Tonight we have the NBA and only the NBA and I wouldn't have it any other way for a Friday in December.

12-15-17NBAATS: Pacers -4.5 (-110)$0.10$0.09

12-15-17NBAATS: Trailblazers -3.5 (-110)$0.20$0.18

Some Justification:

The Trailblazers (-3.5) are a funny team to figure out. They have one of the more dynamic back courts in the league and their front court is lead by one of the more underrated centers in the league. Granted Nurkic is listed as questionable tonight so he may get a little run. Regardless if Nurkic plays or not the Magic are in bad shape as we saw the other night where the Clippers had their way with them. Portland is better than the Clippers...a lot better. This is my favorite play of the night...great now I just mushed it.

The Pacers (-4.5) are coming off a gut wrenching loss to the Thunder and now they welcome Detroit who finally got a win by beating up probably the worst team in the league the Atlanta Hawks (which I'm backing tonight). So Pistons win right? Well...they are coming in with no rest and the Pacers have got to wanting to get back on their home floor to wipe the memory of getting beat by PG13 and OKC. My model say Pacers and I say take them as they are shooting and scoring at a much better clip than the Pistons.

The aforementioned Clippers travel to DC to take on the Wizards and according to my data these teams love to go under (209) on 1 day rest. Not to mention the Clippers are 15th in scoring and the Wiz are 14th. The total opened at 211 and has been pounded down ever since.

The Celtics (-5.5) welcome one of the more underrated teams in the league the Utah Jazz. I love the Jazz I've backed them many times but this is fookin Celtics at full strength at home. This is my second favorite play of the night...dam did I mush that one too?

As I said above I'm backing the Hawks (+6) even though they are terrible. I know I shouldn't bet on shitty teams but Memphis just might be worse. Atlanta is shooting and scoring at a much higher rate than the Grizzles and this game is the lowest total on the board (198) so points will be at a premium. I'm loving the 6 and the under.

The nightcap brings us must see TV when the Rockets (-8) welcome the Spurs. They meet for the first time since the Spurs sent Houston home from the playoffs. The Rockets are playing with a ton of confidence and haven't lost since CP3 has been in the lineup. I know Leonard is back and Pop is the greatest coach in the game but you gotta love the short number at home for a team that looks totally different from a year ago.

Good Luck All!

Today's Line - Good and Bad

3-4 with a loss of $0.23 is not good. However this includes two NHL plays that won't happen again for quite awhile as I'm putting myself on NHL probation until further notice. Also it includes a play on Valpo that I made without knowing one of their star players is out with mono. So no more Valpo.

NBA went 2-1 and my NFL system spit out the Thursday night winner.

Today's Line - Where Do We Go From Here?

Since Monday I've gone 11-21 with significant loses to my bankroll. I'm not going to's been rough. Here we are going into Thursday and I've yet to pull even in my NBA system which is 6-12 and the first time all year it has under-performed so late in the week. It's going to be very hard for it to come back I think with only 4 days to make up 6 losses and a few more to get over 53%.

I can't give up on it though and I'm certainly not going oppo. What I am doing is being a little more selective on the games I actually bet instead of just going in blind and even more selective in what I put in CapperTek

12-14-17NBAATS: Knicks +1 (-110)$0.20$0.18

Some Justification:

The Knicks (+1) and the Unicorn are heading south to take on the Nets. I love the Nets but not tonight. Zing and Kanter should be able to get what they want down low and pick up an easy win.

The Atlanta Hawks (+4) host the Detroit Pistons tonight and at first look you gotta love the Pistons right? I mean they have better players and a better record. But let's dig into it. The Pistons are in a gross 7 game losing streak and just got crushed by the Nuggets at home. Now they have to travel to Atlanta. Secondly the Hawks lead the Pistons in almost every stat I track, granted this hasn't meant shit this week, but if you believe in numbers the way I do the team that shoots better is usually going to win...eventually. The better team is getting points...sign me up.

Lakers at Cavs OVER (219.5) We know one thing the Cavs can score and defense is optional even though LeBron says it's not. The Cavs are 3rd in scoring and 23rd in defense. We also know that the Lakers are 13th in scoring and 24th in defense. But more importantly both teams after one night off hit the over at a 55% or better clip. Take that for data.

Yes we have football...

The Denver Broncos (-2.5) are taking their top ranked defense and their starting/backup/starting QB from Northwestern to the Oil Stadium to face the hapless Colts in a NFL game that no one will be watching. At first look this game is unbetable as you have two teams that are out of the playoffs, one with a lame duck coach, and both fan bases are already looking to the draft. What we do know is that defense travels well, and the Colts can't block anyone ranking 21 in run blocking and dead last in pass blocking. You think Von Miller is looking forward to this game a little? I'll take Denver and might be worth proping a Denver defensive score for fun.

Good Luck All!

Today's Line - Struggling

2-5 with a loss of $0.60 makes for a rough week so far. My NBA system is not performing at all and 3 4th quarter melts by Miami, Toronto, and Houston really has me frustrated.

This all should balance out as history has shown I'm due for some correction and tonight could be the night.
