My halftime line strategy went 1-1 with no surprise that the Rockets mailed in the entire game. Even though I didn't bet on them I have to give credit to the Celtics for coming back in the 4th quarter and getting the win, the Clippers could have laid down as well but they played well in the 4th and got the win...but not the cover. The Knicks are the Knicks, and Cleveland...we have a problem.
My NBA system has over 200 games under it's belt but I'm hitting below 52%. However there are a couple of stats that are hitting way above 53%. Now all it takes is to have the balls to bet every game regardless of the team or situation for a week.
What have I got to lose?
What about my halftime line strategy?
What about blindly fading the Warriors?
All good questions my friends...and the answer is, as always when it comes to gambling questions, it depends.
Today I'll take New Orleans and Phoenix halftime lines, since they are both in the bottom 15 of my power rankings so if they are going to win their games they better not fall behind in the first half.
I'm taking San Antonio for the full game since 8.5 is a lot to win a half by.
I can't trust Detroit to do anything except lose so I'm on the Warriors for the full game.
The other two games are no plays for me since one is in London and JB isn't playing for the Bulls.
Three takes...
Let's talk about the Knicks some more. What a dumpster fire this entire organization is and I don't fault Phil Jackson at all. He is trying his hardest to put decent players around Melo but unfortunately he chose a headcase for a PG and an aging PF that he had to overpay because some other team would as well. I think Hornacek is a good choice for the head coaching job but it comes down to these players wanting to play well every night. Melo going scoreless in the 4th last night is unacceptable.
The Chargers move to LA is unfortunate but a sign of the times when the city stands up and says we won't pay for a stadium and neither will the owner. Owners will just move to a city where the people will pay. It's disgusting.
I think Manny deserves to be in the HoF but you have to let Bonds in too. I don't think you can tell the story of MLB without the both of them.
...and I'm out.
