Went 6-6-1 yesterday thanks to a brutal beginning of the day with La Salle not covering and Baylor not able to cover my teaser. Lesson learned - do NOT put teams you are already betting on into teasers/parlays. How many times am I going to have to relearn this simple lesson? Secondly I bet out of my NHL system and lost. Two losses I should have avoided.
It's been another month of striving for 60% and below are my monthly stats from October 13th through November 12th:
Number of picks placed: 188
Number of picks won: 102
Win percentage: 55.4%
You can see from last month I improved slightly with more than twice the amount of picks placed and a little over three times the amount of picks won.Since I have started this blog I have gone 137-115 for a 54.4%
This is not bad, I'm clearly doing something right and showing improvement. With that said I'm going to try and be as selective as I can the rest of the week since I'm really close to getting to 55% lifetime. My goal is to achieve this with some wiggle room by the end of Sunday night's plays. Here we go...
NBA:
Raptors/Grizzles UNDER (186.5): Lowest under on the board...working the system
Cavs @ Timberwolves (-381): Here are two teams that are going in opposite directions early. Cleveland has yet to win a game on the road and Anthony Bennett their number 1 draft pick has been MIA. Minnesota on the other hand has been dominating in the first quarter and finishing strong. Rick Rubio is averaging just under 9 assists and Kevin Love is finding target for his trademark 3/4 court outlet passes. Look of Minnesota to extract a little revenge at home against a Bynum-less Cavs team.
NY Knicks @ Atlanta (-181): The Knicks continue to look lost without their big Tyson Chandler in the paint and Melo isn't the type of player that can put a team on his back. Atlanta is playing really good unselfish basketball ranking 2nd in the league in assists per game and 6th in the league in scoring. With Al Horford leading the team in points, rebounds, and blocks look for Atlanta to cover easy against the hapless Knicks.
Wizards @ Spurs (-583): Washington travels to San Antonio on a second game of a back-to-back loss to Minnesota. The Spurs however are coming of a days rest at home doing what they do best play defense. This does not bode well for the Wizards since they are ranked 9th in points per game and ranked 29th in points allowed. Look for the Spurs to score at will and play lock down defense to get the win at home.
CBB:
Wyoming @ Colorado (-10): Here we have a team destined for the NIT (Wyoming) playing a team destined for the NCAA and possibly the Sweet 16 in Colorado. This is a slam dunk. This might be the most talented team in the 4 years that Colorado's coach has been there. With an experienced back court and a big athletic front court the Cowboys will simply be outmatched in this one. Oh and by the way the Buffs have a better free throw percentage than the Cowboys. If you haven't heard already this is going to be a very important stat as we handicap CBB.
NHL:
Philadelphia @ Pittsburgh (-238): Anyone think the Flyers win back to back after playing last night? Yeah me either. The Penguins are looking to break their 2 game losing skid and what better way to do that then to welcome a tired Flyers team who scored all their goals for th week last night. Look for the Penguins to focused and ready to take are of business at home.
Keep An Eye On:
The Lowest Under: ATS: (6-2-1)
Going with it tonight.
Fading Houston: ATS: (3-4-1)
Giving 6 on the road at Phily. They could easily cover this as it seems the party is over in Philly as they have lost 4 out of their last 5.
Shading New Orleans: ATS (3-5)
It seems this team is who we thought they were. They are giving two on the road to the Jazz.
Shading Detroit: ATS (3-4)
Got crushed last night. Again I don't like them on the road vs West teams.
Good Luck Everyone!
